Through the group’s advocacy and engagement activities members have built valuable relationships with all three tiers of government to champion positive change for the region, inform policy development, advance policy issues and secure funding for the Greater Bendigo region.
The group attends knowledge sharing events, networking opportunities and works collaboratively to develop our ever-growing reputation as a credible source of information for government and the media.
Industrial Land – The group advocated for the development and implementation of the Greater Bendigo Industrial Land Development Strategy
Connectivity – Improving connectivity is central to increasing productivity, economic opportunities and enhancing social connections for the region, the group participated in Connecting Greater Bendigo
Macklin Review – The BRMG submission was included within a wider submission made by the City of Greater Bendigo to this high-profile Victorian Review
ManuFutures 2 – Supported Deakin University’s successful application for the deployment of an advanced manufacturing hub through a $20 million partnership with the Victorian Government.
Bendigo Airport – Ongoing support for the expansion of the Airport Terminal and Business Park
Circular Economy – Ongoing support of local and state initiatives on addressing the needs for a Circular Economy
North Central Victorian Goldfields Ground Release – Ongoing support for the advancement of the tender evaluation process for Greater Bendigo’s second gold rush – Vic State Government
Bendigo Innovation Festival – Transforming ideas into outcomes through support and participation in the Bendigo Innovation Festival.
The groups focus on the link between education and the future of business growth and innovation is an ongoing priority. With support from the City of Greater Bendigo, key stakeholders, the education sector and skills training providers the collective has enabled significant outcomes throughout the early years, secondary school and higher levels of education.
BRMG members are involved in the following citywide education initiatives:
BRMG is committed to continue to grow its own workforce with the skills that are relevant to the needs of businesses and industries, and focus on the future shape of skills, occupations and businesses.
The BRMG is committed to working with the City of Greater Bendigo, Universities, Central Victorian Advanced Manufacturing (CVAM) and other established partnerships to deliver applied research projects. These collaborations are designed to create jobs, grow investment in Greater Bendigo and connect regional companies to global markets.
Activities include:
