The BMG was established in 2001 to advise the Greater Bendigo City Council on matters of industrial development and manufacturing, land use policy and infrastructure. The BMG provides industry representation through the membership of senior executives from Bendigo’s leading advanced manufacturers and has established itself as a key industry group with a strategic focus for Greater Bendigo.

Manufacturing in Bendigo was worth $2.25B for the Greater Bendigo economy in 2017 (REMPLAN) and employs over 3,500 people. These businesses are all well positioned to continue growing and investing in the Bendigo economy into the future. The manufacturing and mining sectors are responsible for 50% of Greater Bendigo region’s total exports totalling $1.3B per annum to over 50 countries all over the world.
